Cozy Corner - A Quilters Paradise

Cozy Corner is the only stop you’ll ever need when it comes to quilting. Kitty-corner from the post office in downtown Coleman, this quilter’s paradise carries everything under the sun in the way of quilting supplies. You can find tools, notions, books, fabric, threads, and more, in countless colours, designs, and styles. Right now you can find a large variety of new Christmas stock available in store.

Another round of Beginner Classes will be held on November 22 and 29, and owner Pam York encourages people to sign up now. These classes are for people who have never quilted before, and have a maximum class size of four people. This allows for a greater amount of one-on-one time.

The new classroom area in the back of the store is completed, except for additions that will be made in the future. The classroom is a private area separate from the store, with room to work on quilting projects. The beginners classes are very hands-on, and will give first-time quilters a comprehensive look at quilting terminology and techniques. You can learn about quilting tools, making a border, how to use a machine, fussy cutting, different types of stitching, strip piercing, and more — everything you need to make a quilt, and to begin to branch out into the varied and ever-changing world of quilting. Those in the class will create their own cushion or wall hanging.

Many more classes are planned for the future, broadening the scope of knowledge and techniques imparted. Specialty threads and embellishments have become big things in quilting, along with appliqué, and Cozy Corner has supplies and information on all of these techniques and more. They even offer a product that turns personal photographs into quilting patterns. So come on in, check out the store and the classes, and find the perfect quilting style for your own enjoyment.
